Instagram has changed quite a lot lately, but this time let's talk about the new Instagram updates that have happened recently, in 2022.

Reels visual replies

TikTok had this feature for a longer time already, and now it's on Instagram, as well! In a nutshell: you can reply to a comment on your Reel with another Reel. This way you can engage with your followers, and be able to reach an even wider audience. It's a great way to grow your audience and your reach.

Text to speech for Reels

Again, if you've been using TikTok before, you're familiar with this. Text-to-speech allows you to add an auto-generated voice reading your text aloud. This way, you don't need to use your voice to add narration - the tool does the job for you.

Voice effects are available on Reels

This is also a feature, that existed on TikTok already. If you'd like to use voice effects, before posting your Reel, open Audio Controls, and there, by selecting Effects, you are able to quickly apply effects to your audio.

Bonus: features Instagram is testing currently

Instagram subscriptions

Subscriptions will be used by creators, making it possible to have a predictable income, by guaranteeing exclusive content to their subscribers. The test is live in the US.

What will be included?

- Subscriber Stories: creating stories just for subscribers

- Subscriber Lives: broadcasting lives only to subscribers

- Subscriber Badges: subscribers will have a badge next to comments and messages, so they can be easily identified

Changes in the Instagram feed

Instagram is testing three different feeds. The first one, Home, is basically the one that we're using today. The content is ranked based on your predicted interest, so the ones you're more likely to be interested in, will be on top. The reason behind this is, that most people don't get through their feeds.

The second feed will probably be called Favorites. If you want to make sure to see content from some accounts, you better mark them as your favorites. This is the best way to not miss out on any of their content.

The third feed, Followings, will be a chronological feed, where you see posts only from the accounts you follow.
